Over the past 7 years, Kailey has served 3 different PCUSA congregations in Texas, gaining valuable ministry experience in working with children, youth, and families. In addition, she continues to pursue ordination as a Minister of Word and Sacrament in the PCUSA.

In her leisure time, Kailey enjoys walking and playing with her dog, watching true crime shows, reading novels, and socializing with friends.

“Let the little children come, and do not hinder them. For I tell you all, unless you perceive the Kingdom of God like a child, you do not perceive it at all…”

Children learn how to worship by participating in worship. Adults learn to see the kingdom through the eyes and minds of children. Therefore, all ages worship together.

Mini Revolutions providees devotions and lessons for children of all ages and each of the sessions includes:

  • Scripture: One selected scripture that the rest of the components are based on.
  • Questions: Imagining and wondering questions that are open-ended and connect more deeply with the scripture.
  • Look It Up: We highlight a moment in history, an interesting fact, or a person who made an impact that connects with the scripture's theme. This activity allows participants to explore and connect with the world around them and see how scripture can be lived out.
  • Activity: We provide a fun mix of activities that help participants think creatively about the scripture through building and design, earth care, social justice, self-care and compassion, social/emotional learing, science, technology, and art.
  • Micropractice: A simple practice/ritual anchored in daily activities to help form healthy, spiritual, and mindful habits.
  • Coloring Page: It includes an illustration of a short phrase scripture.
  • Bible Story Booklet: A child-friendly paraphrase of the scripture, accessible for all ages, with colorable illustrations that help tell the story.

Children's Worship

All children are always welcome for all of worship. They lead us in worship. They are welcome to be themselves and make blessed children’s noises, all during worship.

On the way in, Children get a bulletin too, so they can follow along, or a few books from the children’s shelf. We invite infants to 5th graders to gather mid-worship for a special conversation. We usually give these children a special craft and invite them to tables near the front right. Or, they can go back to their seats.

If parents and children want to enjoy a more family friendly space to wiggle, color on the floor, and have additional support from youth and adults—try our special children’s area at the front right wing of the sanctuary. There’s a table just their size, and a row of chairs for supervising parents.

At the parents’ option, for infants to pre-K, there is also childcare available during the entire service, or after the Children’s sermon.

All Children’s ministry staff and volunteers are provided

child protection training and follow denominational guidelines

and the OPC Child and Youth Protection Policy.
