OPC Communal Garden Project
The goals of this project are:
To invite in people to Oconee Presbyterian Church to join our work in the community.
To provide a space to build up relationships.
To grow food that can be sent out to support local food ministries.
This is a communal garden where all can come together and work towards a common goal. This is different than the more common “community” garden approach where individual plots are designated for individual groups or families to use. We know that there is always a serious need in our local food banks for fresh produce. Often these services must source these commodities at or beyond expiration dates or must run deficient budgets to try and acquire them. We hope that through this project we can help offer some small bit of relief to this effort and possibly strengthen one another in the process.
Come join us, all are welcome!
