Children in Worship

Children in WorshipJesus said “Let the little children come to me.” Therefore, all children are always welcome for all of worship. They often lead us in worship. They are welcome to be present under foot, and make blessed children’s noises, all during worship.

On the way in, they can grab a bulletin, so they can follow along with us. They can also get a special Children’s worship bag, or a few books from the children’s book shelf.

We’ve learned that children learn how to worship by participating in worship. We’ve also learned that adults learn how to really see the kingdom by seeing it through the eyes and minds of the children. Therefore, we have one worship service, for all ages.

We invite infants to 5th graders to gather mid-worship for a special conversation with one of our ministers. We usually give these children a special craft as they go back to their seats.

However, at the parents’ option, for infants to pre-K, there is childcare available during the entire service, or after the Children’s sermon. So, if parents need a break this morning, or have a child whose volume or body is too distracting to them or to others around them, there is childcare provided.

We have a special place dedicated at the back of the sanctuary for younger children as well. If the pews are too confined, but you don’t want to send them to childcare, try the children’s area at the back. There’s a table just their size, and a few rocking chairs for supervising parents.
